Flight Science Report

 Hey Bloggers,

The past two weeks my literacy group have been working on a Flight science experiment. We used paper planes and we measured how far they went to see what design of paper plane can travel the furthest.

My science report includes - My original hypothesis, the questions I asked myself, the materials I used and my observations/results.

  Till next time Bloggers!

It's not rocket science, or is it?

 Hey Bloggers,

This week we have been launching rockets into space (not really but...) Our rocket is made out of 1.5-litre bottles on the slide below is all of my teams work we have been doing, we do not have pictures of our rocket so far but there might be some eventually.

Till next time!

Samoan Virtual Classroom

Talofa bloggers,

Since the start of the year, we have been learning Samoan.  This is my virtual classroom where I have put all my learning for you to also learn from.  If you hover over items in my classroom, a hyperlink will pop up for you to click on.

In my classroom you will learn about:

  • Samoa as a country
  • Link to a traditional dance video
  • Basic greetings
  • The alphabet
  • Counting 1-10 in Samoan
  • Information about Siapo - how it is created, some examples
  • An animation showing a simple conversation in Samoan

I hope you enjoyed looking at my classroom and I would really like to know what you liked the most.

Fa!

Samoan Greetings

  Hey Bloggers,

Today we made an animation to show Samoan greetings. At the end is a translation, but I challenge you to try and figure out what they are saying before the end, Can you do it? Did you like the characters in it?

Till next time Bloggers!

Precious Parachute (Kind of)

 Hey Bloggers,

For our Inquiry this term we are looking into rockets and space, eventually, we will be making our own rockets, But what goes up must come down right? Our task was to make a parachute, combined with air our rocket should be safe, but we must test it first.

So for the past two Inquiry sessions, Thursday and Monday, we have been making parachutes. Our task was to have the slowest time, with two hex nuts tied to it at the bottom. I was in a group with Pippa and Sophie, our first parachute used fabric and string, it was too fast so we had to come up with another plan, for our second parachute we used thick paper and string.

Here is the photo of the actual parachute:

Here is the picture of the diagram, the bigger one is the final design and the smaller one was our original idea.
