The day I couldn't get hold of...

Hey Bloggers,
Today I have been going back into the past to find a day I couldn't quite get a grip on. Have you ever not been able to get a grip on a day? What day was it and what did you do?
Here is mine -
I open my eyes to see my mother standing over me, shaking the bed, I walk straight past her and walk to the bathroom. I stare at the mirror for a while hoping that I get some memories to find out what day it is, Nothing. My mother walks in and starts fussing over my hair, well that’s normal.
I have left my strange family at home as I set out to school, I enter the gates, looking for something out of the ordinary. My friends run towards me, grab my arms and drag me off to the school building. The classroom seems normal apart from the fact the teachers are dressed more formally maybe I missed dress-up day? No not possible with my mum around.
The day passes by and seems to be ordinary, until just before lunch time. The teachers call for us to line up in our homegroups, we walk in silence to the hall. There are big lights, cameras and all of the chairs are lined up on the stage, it all comes rushing back to me now today is... SCHOOL PHOTOS DAY!
Till next time Bloggers!

  1. Wow, Zara! I am blown away by your amazing story. Even I could not write like that.'I love how descriptive you are about her not remembering what day it is.
The day I could not get a grip on was on a Friday, mufti day and I still had to wear my uniform.

  4. Hi Zara
Hahaha! This is a great short story and kept me reading to the end. You wouldn't believe the number of people who forget about school photo day (including teachers). You created some real suspense here. Looking forward to reading more posts from you. :) Mrs Pascoe
